Valiant King
(to the tune of a 13th c. Catalan folk tune)
Look ye, Eastrealm, and watch the sky!
See they swiftest peregrine fly!
Gone to the wars, of him I sing,
Andreas Eisfalke, Valiant King.
Founder of Blutwache, noble house
Eastrealm’s defenders, quick to rouse!
Following their stalwart master,
ever onward, ever raster!
Marching under argent crosses,
ever brave, they brook no losses!
How their fervor burns!
Look ye, Eastrealm…
Leader of the armies, captain of men,
he vanquished the Midrealm time and again!
He fought against Brion Tarragon
in a duel of paragons,
championing Ealdormere’s widow queen.
Such grace and honor few have seen,
and from him all may learn.
Look ye, Eastrealm…
Sired of eagles, sire of knights,
his enemies flee before his flights!
By his opponents greatly feared,
Faithful friend to those held dear!*
Wulfstan’s finest, ever victor,
mighty warrior, Eastern ruler,
by God’s grace to return!**
Look ye, Eastrealm…

*The original first word in this line was “loyal,” but “faithful” was easier for alliterative purposes, and a not-quite-subtle reference to a certain famous motto.
**Last line sung with great emphasis!
