THE HEROES OF THE EAST
Tune:  "The Queen of Argyle"
By Dorigen (posted to EK List 2/11/01)

Gentles all, it is my pleasure
to sing to you this measure
about the Eastrealm's citizens,
of whom I am am the least.
When I say they are excelling,
it's no more than truth I'm telling
of the Champions of the battlefield,
the Heroes of the East.

CHORUS
Give them praise, give them glory,
in words of song and story,
and through all this mighty Kingdom
may their numbers be increased.
For their skill and their endeavor
may they be known forever,
so, gentles, raise your glasses
to the Heroes of the East!

Oh, there's Vissevald and Randal,
and it would be a scandal
if I failed to name Andreas,
rightly feared by man and beast,
but wherever swords are swinging,
you'll find the bards are singing
of Timothy and Lucan,
fighting Champions of the East.

CHORUS

Now, the East has mighty bowmen,
the scourge of all our foemen;
the Dragon's armies perish
when their arrows are released.
You will see the foemen dying
when Lorenzo's shafts are flying,
with Squirrelsbane beside him,
Champion archers of the East.

CHORUS

Oh the fencers all are nimble
that wear the Eastern symbol;
their skill it has no equal,
either living or deceased.
With a rapier quick for killin'
you'd best beware of Dylan,
and beware of Alexandre,
Champion fencers of the East.

CHORUS

Do you see a sight of wonder?
Do you hear the hoofs like thunder?
Caparisoned and armored,
for the eyes they are a feast.
Be assured you can rely on
both Eleanor and Brion
to lead the mounted warriors,
Champion riders of the East.

CHORUS
