This East Kingdom scroll was awarded 9/13/03. It was inspired by a 14th Century Franco-Flemish Book of Hours. It is done on Bristol Board cold press with gouache. The two bottom pieces came from separate pages, but worked well together for the scroll. The initials are based on one of the pages. This was my first gilding attempt.

Closeup of the letters. The K is the only one in the book, I had to make up the other two.
The letters look too white in the picture, but look better in person.

Closeup of the medallion and my first gilding attempt.
The scratches were later removed by applying more gold leaf in more appropriate weather as I had only done 1 layer originally.
