Gift Scroll for Estrella War

Kingdom of the Outlands Estrella War Gift Scroll 02/19/05

This scroll was made as a gift for Their Majesties to give at Estrella War. I was assigned the Kingdom of the Outlands and given the words for the scroll (by Baroness Selena D'Ambra). The scroll is based on the original artwork in the Urbino Bible from the 1400's. The scroll is done on pergementa with gouache.

The gift scroll. I know the devices are canted - but the whole thing is very Escher like in my opinion.

The original picture graced the 2 volume Latin Vulgate Bible commission by Federigodi Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino (1422-1482). This Holy Bible (King James Version) has reproduced all the illustrations from the original into this modern version.
