My friend David Taylor, he and I had
many parallels and crossing of paths in our lives. When I met Dave our expected
life span was measured in weeks. We were in a dangerous business. He did his
work one slow squeeze at a time between heart beats. My work was chaos and
mayhem inflicted very precisely. We were both very very good at what we did for
Uncle. We both moved on from the jungle to find ourselves among the castles and
armor. There we each found the SCA. Eventually in our own time we each made our
own way back to the states. Hands turned to art and we both eventually became
apprenticed to a man known as Shadow Maker. Our paths diverged again and years
later Dave found me a job with the company he worked for. As time passed it
seemed right that I should take Cron as my Squire. We gave and took, learned
and taught from one another over the course many years. Our paths will cross no
more this side of the veil, but I will not forget my friend, my brother, my
squire.

David
Taylor was taken from us suddenly at the age of 42. He was a gentleman, always
polite, generous and quick to laugh. I met him too late in life and never got
to spend as much time with him as I would have liked. He was a ray of sunshine that warmed the
earth with his smile and he could smite evil with a cock of his head and a
roar. My heart breaks for Shelly’s loss. His laughter and generous heart will
be sorely missed. ~Maistreas Temair
